WHAT IS THE MID-ATLANTIC JUDGING CENTER?

The Mid-Atlantic American Orchid Society Judging Center is one of the earliest Orchid Judging Programs to be established in the American Orchid Society system. We meet at the Philadelphia Horticultural Center in Fairmount Park, in Philadephia, Pennsylvania. The Mid-Atlantic AOS Judging Center is fortunate to have a very broad based team of Orchid Judges with professions in architecture, psychology, engineering, medicine, education, law, business, and horticulture. Our common denominator is a love of orchids.

The Philadelphia Orchid Judging has always been based on open judging as an entire team. This means that the public and orchid growers are able to attend and listen to all of the Judges comments and gain the benefits of the entire teams experience when discussing and judging an entry.

The Center's Judges are known for their vaste knowledge, fairness in Judging and high standards for flower excellence. The Center encourages local Society members, Amateurs and Professional growers to bring flowering orchid plants in for Judging and has participated in joint educational seminars with local Societies.

We hope that if you are in the Philadelphia area, you will join us. Go to our Where page for directions to the Horticultural Center.
